The Nigeria Railway Corporation stopped services on the Abuja-Kaduna Railway line as part of the train track around Dutse and Rijana in Kaduna State was blasted with bombs on Wednesday, October 20th.

The Managing Director of Nigeria Railway Corporation, Fidet Okhiria in a professional opinion has described those that carried out the bomb blast attack in Abuja-Kaduna Railway Station as vandals.

According to the Cable, the MD dismissed reports that the deadly attack which happened on Thursday, October 21, was carried out by bandits.

Speaking with Dailytrust, Okhiria said services in the railway line were dismissed because hitches were found on the railway tracks, he added that the issue will soon be resolved.

He Said;

“So we have issues with the track and we are fixing it. We are resuming train services and by today’s evening, we should run if possible.

We operated a train from Kaduna to Abuja this morning but we had to suspend operations due to the damaged track until we fix it.”
