After exactly eight months, academic activities in Tertiary Institutions are set to resume.
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has called off its eight-month-old strike, after a meeting with government officials on Thursday.
The National Executive Council meeting, which was held at the ASUU Secretariat in Abuja till the early hours of Friday, has seen the union put an end to the long strike.
According to a statement released by the union, the strike was called off in compliance with the ruling of the court and also for the ‘huge respect’ the union has for President Muhammadu Buhari and the speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila.

The union also urged all union members to “resume all services hitherto withdrawn from 12:01 on Friday, 14th October 2022.
