The separated couple first met in 2003 during one of Basketmouth’s shows.
Popular Nigerian stand-up comedian, Basketmouth has announced the end of his 12-year-old marriage to his entrepreneur wife, Elsie.
The heartbreaking news was shared by the comedian on his official Instagram page on Thursday, while also pleading for privacy at this time.
According to him, the decision was made after several deliberations between him and his wife, although they would continue to work together to give their best to their kids.
“As much as it pains me to bring my personal life to the public space, this is an unavoidable situation,” the comedian started.
“After much deliberations, my wife and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage.” he wrote.
“As we move forward separately, we will continue to work together to give our beautiful children all the care, love, guidance and support they need. We humbly ask that you respect our privacy as we navigate through these times. Thank you.”
Basketmouth and Elsie got married in 2010, but they first met each other in 2003. Their marriage has been blessed with three kids- two girls and a boy.
