Manchester United striker, Edinson Cavani, is being linked with a shock move to Barcelona on transfer deadline day.

This comes after United officially announced Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival from Juventus on Tuesday.

The Red Devils are now focused on outgoings, according to the UK Mirror.

The only permanent exit has been goalkeeper Sergio Romero, whose contract expired.

Daniel James will also leave Old Trafford on a permanent basis to Leeds United for a fee worth an initial £25million along with add-ons.

Yet United are still keen to slim down their wage bill and one player that Ronaldo’s arrival raises questions over is Edinson Cavani.

The Uruguayan striker signed a new one-year contract last season after an impressive debut campaign when he scored 17 goals and provided six assists.

Cavani’s central striking role is now under the greatest threat following Ronaldo’s arrival and also the fact he wears the No 7 shirt the 36-year-old took during his first spell at United and at Real Madrid and Juventus.
