The winger becomes the first signing of the Todd Boehly era.
Chelsea have finally began their business in the ongoing transfer window with the signing of Raheem Sterling from Manchester City.
The 27-year-old winger joins the North London club from Premier League champions, Manchester City as he hopes for a fresh start at the club.
As part of the steps to revamp their attack under Thomas Tuchel, Sterling became a priority target for the Blues this season.
The English winger has now completed his move to Chelsea in a £47.5 million deal and has signed a five-year contract with the club.
Reports also suggest that Sterling will earn more than £ 300,000 per week at Chelsea, making him the club’s highest earner.
Sterling leaves City as a club legend, although he isn’t regarded as one by many. In terms of goals, only Sergio Aguero has more goals and only Kelvin De Bruyne has more assists than the England International.
Although his form has dipped recently, Chelsea could offer a fresh start for him and an opportunity to rediscover his best form, particularly to feature in the World Cup in Qatar.
Best of luck Sterling!
