Coronavirus cases in Africa have now hit 1.8 million as per statistics provided by the World Health Organization WHO.

According to the statistics provided by the WHO African region, South Africa has the highest number of cases with a total of 728,836 cases and 19,539 deaths. Mauritius has the lowest number of cases with just 452 cases in total, while Eritrea is the only country without any recorded death due to the virus.

The statistics also shows that more than 1.4 million recoveries have been recorded, with a total of 43,000 deaths cumulatively cumulatively.

WHO African Region released the update via their official twitter handle @WHOAFRO on Wednesday. The update includes each country in Africa with their number of cases and deaths recorded. Check out the tweet below:
