Covid-19 active cases in South Africa have dropped below 40,000 – after seeing 4,014 people recover in the last day.

South Africa has the highest number of coronavirus active cases in Africa. However, according to sources, 675,593 have recovered from the virus. This result translates to an outstanding 92% recovery rate.
A report from the Department of Health shows that 1,763 new cases have been detected with 72 deaths. This brings the total number of cases to 734,175 with a total death toll of 19,749.
