Former Manchester United defender, Gary Neville, has told midfielder, Donny van de Beek, to leave Old Trafford as soon as possible because he has not been given a chance in his 18 months at the club.
Neville believes Van de Beek needs to play football elsewhere to resurrect his career.
He said this following Man United’s 4-2 defeat to Leicester City in the Premier League on Saturday.
Van de Beek joined Man United from Ajax for £35m in 2020.
The 24-year-old has started just four times in the Premier League and he’s only managed two starts in all competitions so far this season.
The Dutchman was an unused substitute in Man United’s defeat to Leicester at the weekend.
“Why’s Donny van de Beek not being given a chance?
“There’s something about that. He’s not been given a chance for 18 months, so you have got to come to the conclusion that Ole [Gunnar Solskjaer] didn’t sign him, or he doesn’t fancy him.
“Neither is good for Donny van de Beek, so I think he needs to go and play football somewhere,” Neville was quoted by Metro UK as saying.
