Leeds United legend Jermaine Beckford has insisted that Kalvin Phillips’ move to Manchester City is disappointing.

He questioned Leeds’ decision to allow the England midfielder to leave but added that it was a great decision for the player.

The move to Manchester City would give the England international the opportunity to challenge for the Premier League title and also play in the Champions League.

The former striker expressed excitement to see Phillips compete for a place in Pep Guardiola’s starting XI

“I’m devastated, but it’s a great move!

“You’re not pushing yourself if you know you’re a guaranteed starter every week,” he added.
