Manchester United have launched a last-gasp bid to hijack Lyon’s bid to sign Tyrell Malacia.
The Red Devils have joined the race to land the Feyenoord left-back, who has the same agent as another of their target Frenkie de Jong.
Lyon was the first club to reach a full agreement with Malacia, however, the move has not been rubber-stamped.
It has given room for United to step in and make a late attempt to snap up the player, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Malacia, 22 and De Jong are both represented by the same agent, Ali Dursun, who will be tasked with thrashing out personal terms with United if talks develop well over the next few days.
United manager, Erik ten Hag, is a huge admirer of Malacia who has two years left on his current deal with Feyenoord.
