The midfielder is set to follow a new path once his contract expires this month.

Manchester United have announced that midfielder Paul Pogba will leave the club once his contract expires on June 30, with a return to Juventus on the cards.

Paul Pogba, a former academy player of the club, rejoined the Red Devils in 2018 for a record fee of £89 million, making him the most expensive player in the club’s history.

With many anticipating a new era, Pogba, unfortunately, was unable to justify his price tag due to a series of ups and downs.

However, four years have passed since he rejoined United, with the world-class midfielder now set to find a new club next season.

An official statement from Manchester United bidding him farewell reads: “The club can announce that Paul Pogba will leave Manchester United at the end of June, upon the expiry of his contract.

“Everyone at the club would like to congratulate Paul on his successful career and thank him for his contributions to Manchester United.

“We wish him all the best for the next steps on a remarkable journey.”

Pogba himself took to his official Instagram page to thank the club and the fans for their showing their support throughout his second stint.

“I feel privileged to have played for this club. Many beautiful moments and memories but most importantly an unconditional support from the fans. Thank you Manchester United!”

Pogba returned to United after enjoying four seasons of success at Juventus, winning the Serie A multiple times and also announcing himself as one of the best midfielders in Europe.

Despite an underwhelming second spell at the club, Pogba managed to win one Carabao Cup and a Europa League trophy during his four years at the club.

Although the midfielder won the World Cup with France in 2018, he never managed to reach the same high level as United. He has a total of 39 goals and 51 assists to his name during his second spell at the club.

A move to Juventus is on the cards, although the World Cup winner has attracted interest from Paris Saint-Germain.

Juventus have offered the 29-year-old a three-year deal worth €7.5 million per season, as they hope to bring him back to Turin.

The final decision, however is now Pogba’s own to make.
