The Senegalese star player could be miss the upcoming World Cup set to take place in two weeks.

Senegalese star man, Sadio Mane could miss the World Cup after he suffered a knee injury during Bayern Munich’s encounter with Werder Bremen in the German Bundesliga.

Sadio Mane limped off with an apparent injury during the 20th minute of the encounter with the 7th-placed team in the League.

Bayern went on to win the match by 6 goals to one on Tuesday evening, with head coach Julian Nagelsmann Mane’s injury as a tibia issue.

According to goal, Mane underwent tests this morning to determine the extent of his injury, which have set an initial recovery period of 3-4 weeks.

However, the Senegalese would still undergo further testing to determine if there is a chance for him to make the World Cup.

Bayern released an official statement confirming that Mane would miss their upcoming Bundesliga match with Schalke this weekend.

“Sadio Mane suffered an injury to his right fibula during FC Bayern’s 6:1 win against Werder Bremen. ‘Africa’s Footballer of the Year’ is out for the match against FC Schalke this Saturday,” the statement reads.

“Further examinations will follow in the next few days, FC Bayern will exchange information with the medical side of the Senegalese Football Association.”
