Tupac Amaru Shakur, well known as 2pac, was an actor and a rap legend. 2pac left the world in September 1996, yet many consider him to be the greatest rapper of all time despite his brief existence.

The 16th of June, 2021, would have been his 50th birthday and a lot of fans took to social media to celebrate his legacy. Though 2pac is gone forever, he lives on through his music and in the hearts of many. Friends like Jada Pinkett Smith, hold him dearly in their hearts. The legendary rapper lived for just twenty-five years.

With just 25 years on earth, 2pac created a legacy that promises to live on forever. One of the biggest moments of the 2012 Coachella was when a hologram of 2pac performed.

2pac was murdered at the age of 25 by an unknown gunman. He was shot 4 times. To date, there are various conspiracy theories regarding his death. Some fans believe he faked his death to have a quiet life, others have accused some hip hop star to be behind the hit. The killer remains unknown.

He Drew some of His Inspiration from Shakespeare

While schooling at the Baltimore School of Arts, Tupac took a keen interest in Shakespeare and studied the writer. The writer became one of his biggest inspiration. This might be unusual, but I guess it takes unusual inspiration to create an outstanding legacy.

He went to Jail

2pac served nine years in jail when a woman alleged that she was assaulted by Pac and his crew. Though he denied the accusation he was sentenced to jail to serve 1.5 – 4.5 years.

However, he got bailed after serving nine months by Suge Knight, a music producer and Jimmy Iovine. $1.4 million was used as bail to get 2pac released from jail.

To pay back this hefty favour, the rapper contractually concurred to making three albums under Death Row Records.

He Renamed His Publishing Company after a Fan

A dying lad named Joshua was a huge fan of Pac and wanted to meet him. His parent wrote a letter to the rapper to inform him of their son’s dying wish.

2pac flew to Maryland and met Joshua, and they both went to see a basketball game. After Joshua passed away, the rapper changed the name of his publishing company from Ghetto Gospel Music to Joshua’s Dream.

East Coast/West Coast Conflict

Though born in New York, 2pac grew to fuel the beef between West Coast and East Coast. Though he and Notorious Biggie had a history of once been best friends, the two fell off and started one of hip hop biggest beef.

In Tupac’s single ‘Hit ‘Em Up,’ he dissed Biggie and made claims of sleeping with his wife. Other East coast rappers like Puff Daddy got dissed too in the song. Three months after releasing the song, 2pac was gunned down.
