Reports from Daily Trust, say that kidnappers in some parts of Abuja now demand food items like noodles, maggi, rice and others for ransom.

Areas in Abuja such as Anguwar Hausawa and Kiyi communities in Abaji and Kuje local area councils.

A man identified as Joshua, who is a relative of one of the kidnapped victims, said that he was threatened to buy food items as ransom for the release of his relative.

Joshua said;

“Other members did the same thing before their kidnapped relatives were released. If you fail to buy those things and take only cash to them, they will collect it and still hold the victim untill you get the foodstuff for them.”
