Lady who sued her mother’s doctor for allowing her to be born, wins case, to be compensated with millions.

Evie Toombes, a 20-year-old lady from Lincolnshire, UK, who sued her mother’s doctor to court for allowing her to be born has won the court case.

The ‘wrong conception’ case has been described as ground breaking, as cases like this are rarely taken to court.

Evie sued her mother’s doctor for allowing her to be born despite knowing about her permanent health condition when she was still in her mother’s womb.

Due to her permanent health condition identified as lipomylomeningocoele (LMM), a condition of a gap in her spine which failed to develop while she was still the womb, Evie visits the hospital regularly to receive tubes into her body.

According to Evie, the doctor failed to provide vital supplements that would have prevented her permanent health condition, WioNews reports.

On Wednesday December 1, at a high court’s ruling, the judge, Judge Rosalind Qc backed up the claim of Evie Toombes and also awarded herwoth a huge compensation for damages.

Judge Rosalind who found out that the doctor failed to prescribe folic acid supplement to Evie’s mother during her pregnancy said;

“And if she had been told,she would have delayed conceiving and instead had a different ,totally, healthy baby.”

Evie’s lawyers disclosed that the compensation that she claims has not be fully calculated yet but will be enough to cover up her extensive care needs for a life time, NYPost reports.
