The Consul General of Nigeria in Johannesburg, Andrew Idi, has paid a condolence visit to the wife of a Nigerian man, Nwankwo Gabriel Ugochukwu, who was killed in Durban, South Africa. 

Nwankwo, a father of four, was shot dead on 13th October 2022 at East and West Axis Point, South Beach, Durban.

The Nigerian Consulate had earlier noted with great concern reports of violent killings of Nigerian nationals in KwaZulu-Natal province, Durban.

In a public notice dated 17 October 2022, the Nigerian envoy expressed sadness over the “condemnable” murders which happened in the last three weeks. 

Meanwhile, the wife of the deceased, Stephany Nwankwo has been mourning her husband on Facebook since his murder. 

“In my heart you made heaven. Rest on my saint.” she wrote on Friday, October 21, 2022. 

“Chaii” she added.
