A senator of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Clifford Ordia has expressed his displeasure over the low level of national security in the country.

Ordia called on the federal government of Nigeria to take up the situation into their hands and tackle insecurity in the nation, warning that no one is safe in the country.

The Senator said this after he escaped attack on his convoy while he was returning from Edo to Abuja by armed gunmen on Monday, April 26, Daily Trust reports.

Reports from The Cable say that Senator Ordia told journalists on Wednesday, April 28, that the armed gunmen made shots at his convoy along Okene Lokoja road in Kogi state, injuring three of his aides.

Narrating his ordeal, the Senator explained he is still very traumatised by the terrible experience.

He Said;

“During the exchange, three of the policemen sustained gun wounds. One of them was critically injured. We had to immediately rush them to the Federal Medical Centre in Lokoja, Kogi State.

“They did their best and were able to stabilise them. I’d to immediately put a call across the Federal Medical Centre in Abuja to be on standby. One of the policemen had a bullet lodged into his liver.

“We met another setback in Abaji. There was traffic because of the incident and because we had to save the lives of the wounded policemen, we decided to make a move. They opened fire on us. Some vigilantes had to join the policemen and they were chased into the bush.”
