1. Read Books.
Life Hack Number One:
What do Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, and Elon Musk have in common? They all are ardent consumers of books. It is common knowledge that Elon Musk taught himself most of the stuff he knows about astrophysics, space science, and programming. How else? Through books written by notable and adept scholars.
It is said that a book allows insight into the thought-life, ideas, and lifestyle of a particular person. There could be no greater truth! Reading the books of people who have paved ways allows you to get in a few days what they achieved through years of training.
It is a life hack that is so over-looked, and yet still so valuable. Pick a book up today!
2. Learn Every Day.
Life Hack Number 2: Don’t let a day pass you by without learning something new. Be insanely curious. A mentor of mine once told me; enjoy gathering knowledge—you never know when you might need them.
I know a guy who was nothing (when I say nothing, I mean nothing), 6 years ago, but while reading, came upon a line: Knowledge is an asset. After digesting that, he developed a hunger for knowledge so strong, he currently has six degrees in six different fields. There’s nothing stopping you from learning what you want to learn—except maybe you.
3. Maximize Your Phone.
Most of us cannot do without our phones. Whether it’s to be connected, to get information or even social media (especially social media); we constantly need to be updated.
Did you know there’s a disorder called FOMO? (The Fear of Missing Out). Check it out, people who exhibit this have a compulsive need to be online, as much as possible. They always feel as though they’re being left out of the grand plan of the world, anytime they’re not online. (P.S. I hope you’re not one of them).
I’m digressing. Life Hack number three—buy an extra battery pack, because why not? You could actually be left out of the grand plan of the world #wink. Seriously, though, life does get harder without a smartphone to help out. Buy an extra battery pack today!
4. Declutter Your Life.
This is importanta. If you’re like my dad, you probably feel an emotional connection to almost all your pictures, videos, recordings, and text. Guess what? Life Hack 4 says to tidy up your life once a month!
Dedicate a day (when I say dedicate, I mean absolutely make up your mind) to declutter your phone of useless files and documents that are taking up space. If you don’t have the mind (and I perfectly understand), give it to your sibling, or friend to do. (As long as they wouldn’t factory reset it, anyways).
Not only your phone—your living space, even your clothes need decluttering. Chances are, you’ll feel lightened, and at ease, giving your mind the impression that you have a fresh start. Trust me; decluttering is something you must do.
5. Embrace Failure.
Shocked? Life hack number 5 says to accept failure in whatever form. It is one of the quickest (not the easiest, anyways) methods to growth. Know this now; failure should be expected. It could be a big event, like losing a job, or a small one, like forgetting to do your laundry.
The important thing is that the process of dealing with failure—big or small—is the same. Acknowledge that it happened. Deal with the situation. Learn from it. Improve yourself. And move on.
Anyone can fail; but how you deal with failure matters.
6. Focus on Impact.
Have you ever had a birthday celebration? (Who am I kidding, of course you have!) Have you taken time to notice the epistles, people—especially those close to you—write? It always has to do with how you have influenced their lives, in one way or another.
It could be a kind word you said, or that you were just there when they needed you, or a help you rendered. People don’t forget you if you’ve made an impact in their lives. That should tell you something.
So, instead of running to buy the latest gadget, or clothing accessory, why not focus on making impact in the lives of people that surround you. In the end, it’d be all that mattered, anyways.
7. Life Hacks Number 7.
Lemme end this article by giving you some quick ones you should probably screenshot or something,
- Smile before answering the phone. It will make you sound happier, and even improve the quality of your conversation.
- Being surrounded by the colour yellow helps you stay focused. Studies show that the colour yellow decreases the production of melatonin, a hormone that makes you feel sleepy.
- If you brush your teeth (and do other small tasks) with the less dominant hand, you force your brain to wok differently. This will improve your self-control.
- Is someone angry with you? If you want to calm them down, tell them they have every right to feel that way. Don’t tell them to calm down. #LoL #YouHaveToBeCalmingDown
Remember to comment if you absolutely love this article. It always means the world to me. I sincerely hope this list encourages you to live the best life possible.
What are you waiting for? Go. Start. Now. It’s never too late to be amazing!
