On Wednesday, January 16, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency announced that the body has no reason to protect anyone who may be involved in the ongoing investigation concerning 25kg illicit drug deal carried out by a hang headed by Abba Kyari.
At the moment, the former commander of the defunct Intelligence Response Team (IRT), Force Headquarters, Abba Kyari is still in the custody of NDLEA.
Four other officers were also arrested alongside Abba Kyari.
In a statement released by the agency’s. Spokesperson, Femi Babafemi on Wednesday, February 16th, the body affirmed that it remained committed to the evidence-based investigation and its resolve cannot be weakened by misinterpretation of any fact.
However, mixed reactions trailed NDLEA’s statement, according to some persons the agency might be trying to protect it’s other operatives involved in the case.
In it’s response to claims that the body is trying to protect some of its operatives, NDLEA urged the general public to be patient and assured that all grey areas concerning the IIlicit 25kg drugs will uncovered.
