The Portuguese star and five other players have been shortlisted for the best player in the Premier League for the month of September.
Cristiano Ronaldo, Mohammed Salah and Ismail Sarr have been nominated for this month’s English top-flight best player after their major contributions to their teams.
Other contenders for the prize include, Manchester City’s Joan Cancelo, Chelsea’s Antonio Rudiger and Newcastle’s Allan Saint-Maxim.
Ronaldo scored twice in a 4-1 victory against Newcastle United on what was his second debut for Manchester United. He scored another one when United defeated West Ham United 2-1.
Salah on the other hand has scored in every Premier League match he featured in for Liverpool this season. With goals against Leeds, Crystal Palace and Brentford, Salah became the fastest Liverpool player ever to reach 100 league goals.
The same could be said about Watford’s Ismaila Sarr, who’s scored three goals for Watford- including a brace against Norwich City which saw Watford climb to 12th in the league table.
West Ham United’s Michail Antonio was the winner for last month’s prize, but a new winner will be announced next week votes from a panel of football expert.
