The preacher disclosed that he was at the saddest period of his life when he lost his son last year.

General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has said that some people mocked him when he lost his son last year.

The man of God revealed this during the church’s 70th annual convention, taking place at the church’s campground along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The convention which commenced on Monday, 8th of August is expected to last through till Sunday, 14th of August.

According to the Punch, Pastor Adeboye spoke on the second of the program on the topic ‘Born Free’, which emphasised that God carries his children who make themselves carryable.

Adeboye revealed that God carried him when he was at the saddest period of his life after he lost his son Dare in May 2021.

He said: “Some of you have heard this before: when I was in the saddest period of my life, with so many questions and I know that even in my deep sorrow some people were still laughing at me, I got a text from one of my daughters.

“All she said was: ‘Daddy, let God carry you. And that put an end to any problem; it ended my sorrows. It renewed my faith.”

Dare, a 40-year-old biological son of the preacher, died on May 4 2021 in Eket, Akwa Ibom where he served as the Assitant Pastor in charge of the region.

He was survived by his wife, Temiloluwa and three daughters.
