In a heart-wrenching incident, a Nigerian bride sadly lost her life just a few hours after her wedding ceremony in Lokoja, the capital of Kogi state.

According to reports, the bride experienced stomach pains during her wedding ceremony, which took place on Saturday, April 29. Despite her discomfort, she continued with the celebrations. However, as the pain intensified, her condition became alarming, prompting her loved ones to rush her to the hospital. In an attempt to alleviate her pain, she was administered a diclofenac injection.

Regrettably, her condition deteriorated, and it was discovered that she was suffering from internal bleeding. Urgent action was taken, and she was swiftly taken to the operating theatre for surgery. Tragically, she did not survive the procedure, leaving her family and groom in profound grief.

“This lady’s wedding took place in Lokoja on April 29th. She had been complaining of stomach pains since the reception. When she mentioned that she hadn’t eaten all day, she was given coke to drink. The pain persisted when she returned to her parent’s home, where she received prayers and blessings before departing for her husband’s house, as per tradition. Eventually, she was rushed to a private hospital, and the attending doctor administered a diclofenac injection. Unfortunately, her condition worsened, leading to a referral to the Federal Medical Center, where internal bleeding was diagnosed, necessitating immediate surgery.

This young lady, full of beauty and promise, did not survive the operation. It is a deeply sorrowful day for her parents and groom. May God provide us with strength in these trying times. ????”
