The party is under serious criticism from people in the social media space.

A shocking fact about how the All Progressive Congress (APC) party hired clergymen and women to participate in the unveiling of the party’s vice presidential candidate, Kashim Shettima has surfaced.

On Wednesday, the APC’s presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu unveiled the former Borno State governor as his running mate for the 2023 presidential elections.

This sparked reactions among Nigerians on various social media platforms, many of which have expressed their disapproval of the same faith ticket.

However, a few days later, the party received further backlash from Nigerians after the unveiling of Kashim Shettima as the party’s vice presidential candidate.

In an attempt to claim the support of the Christian community, the party reportedly hired faked bishops to come to show support at the unveiling.

Footages of these bishops dressed in cassocks and lining up to attend the event have since surfaced online, and have received serious criticism from Nigerians.

According to one of the ‘bishops’ Joseph Odaudu, who spoke with Peoples Gazette, they were hired from a motor park to come disguise as bishops.

Odaudu further disclosed that the APC members promised to pay each of them a sum of N100,000, but they were eventually paid N40,000.

“They came to meet us at the car park behind Eagle Square and they promised to give me N100,000,” he said.

“They bought food for us and took us to another place where they gave us clothes to dress like Christian leaders and reverend fathers.”

“But after we finished, they only gave me N40,000 and another person said they got only N30,000. I don’t know why they changed our agreement because they said they had N100,000 for us.

“I am a Christian and I am supporting Tinubu but I hate when people lie and fail to deliver on their promises.”
