A lot of times we wonder about certain things, and most times these things we think so much about it, and then we come up with a conclusion, that it is for a reason, but we don’t try to know why, maybe because it’s weird, deep, or not the usual thing anyone just says, one of those thoughts happen to be the topic of today, which is “Why Is Cotton Put On The Nostrils And Ears Of A Dead Person”

So even if you haven’t seen a dead person before, you should have watched movies whereby you saw one and there was cotton in their nostrils and ears, but even if you asked, which most people don’t, you never really got a valid answer why it is so.

Well, what’s the reason, I’ll tell you.

When a person dies, respiration stops, and air would enter the body through nasal openings and cause swelling. So the cotton helps to avoid that and also helps prevent germs from being released by decaying procedures taking place in the dead body.

I also heard that when a person dies, there are fluids that come out from the holes In their body, such as; the ears, the nostrils, the vagina(for women), and any other hole that can be found in the body, and these fluids reek a lot, so they put the cotton in there, to absorb it, and the mortuary attendants change it often.

No knowledge is a waste, now you know something you may never have known before, or even if you did, you heard more about it.
Well gone are the days where we just left those thoughts in our heads as kids, kids of these days, can ask any type of question, so don’t go lagging or be speechless, be informed.

I would love to know your thoughts, do drop them in the comments section, and please share this post, thank you.
