Wizkid and family emotional as his late mother is laid to rest

The singer’s mother sadly passed away August 18, 2023.

Award-winning international superstar, Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, grieved as he buries his mother, Jane Dolapo, on Friday, October 13, 2023.

In a viral clip shared on social media from the service in honour of the singer’s late mother, Wizkid was seen looking emotionally overwhelmed by grief.

Alongside family members, Wizkid was dressed in a gold attire, as they attended the intimate church service held in Lagos.

During the wake-keeping for his late mother, which was held on October 12, 2023, the family faced their emotions. Wizkid could be seen consoling his oldest son, Boluwatife, who broke down over the loss of his grandmother.

The singer paid tribute to his mother, stating that the loss of his mother is the deepest pain he has ever faced in his life.

“The pain is profound. It hurts deeply. The deepest pain I’ve ever felt in my life. I’m lost but I pray God will comfort every one of us. I’m lost without you mom, I love you so much,” he said.
