The PDP and LP had earlier called for the cancellation of results collation.
The chairman of the Inter – Party Advisory Committee (IPAC), Yabagi Sani has urged INEC chairman, Yakubu Mahmood to continue with the collation of the results of the General elections held in the country.
Sani said this after INEC chairman suspended the collation of results for 20 hours, as the commission cited technical issues for the suspension.
Following this, the Peoples Democratic Party and the Labour Party had called for the cancellation of the 2023 presidentialelections, citing irregularities as a reason.
The two parties also called for the resignation of the commission’s chairman, saying he had compromised the integrity of the election.
Reacting to those claims, Sani has called for the continuation of the collation process despite those claims. He stated that INEC “must conclude the process”, adding that aggrieved political parties who are not satisfied with the result announced by INEC should go to court.
Yakubu responded that the commission would do whatever it can, in accordance to the law, to review the concerns raised by the aggrieved parties.
