“I only listen to my husband’s music because we are married” – Simi

Simi mentioned that she knows no one but she consistently listens to American rapper, J. Cole.

Despite winning several awards and regarded as one of the most successful female artists in the Nigerian music industry, Simi has said that she only listens to her husband, Adekunle Gold’s music because they are married.

The female singer and songwriter said this during a recent interview on the Zero Conditions Podcast.

“I don’t know anybody. The reason I know my husband’s songs is because I am married to him,” Simi said.

She further revealed that she doesn’t consume a lot of music including her own songs, but she consistently listens to american rapper J Cole.

“The reason I am listening to my album now is because it just came out. In another few weeks I won’t listen as much,” she said.

Simi recently released her fifth studio album titled ‘Lost But Found‘ which features guest appearances from Tiwa Savage, Falz, Lojay, Bella Shmurda, Asa and legendary Juju musician, Chief Commander Ebenezer Obey.

Following the release of her album, Simi described the album as a product of self-discovery and growth that followed the changes in life from marriage to motherhood.
