A heavy-duty truck loaded with sand crushed a radio presenter, Deborah Ohamara, inside a moving vehicle along the ever-busy airport road Lugbe, Abuja.
Details of the accident are still sketchy; however, it was gathered that Ohamara, a staff member of Naija Info FM, 95.1 Abuja, was driving from the airport axis when a vehicle hit her car from behind and she rammed into the moving truck.
One other person sustained mild injuries, while the truck driver survived.
The incident, which occurred by 3 pm on Monday, January 15, 2024, at around the popular Aso Estate junction Lugbe, also caused high-traffic gridlock, making it difficult for commuters to make use of the road.
It was gathered that vehicles coming from both sides of the highway were stuck as a result of the blocked movement as personnel of both Federal Road Safety Corps, Police and FCTA’s traffic management department tried to evacuate the scene.
Late Ohamara, popularly known as the golden voice of Naija Info, due to her on-air appeal, was born in Cross River State.
She started her career as a newscaster with the Cross River Broadcasting Corporation, CRBC TV as well as a presenter on 105.5 Paradise FM Calabar.
