A pregnant woman, identified as Ogunbunmi, has reportedly been kidnapped by some armed men in Ogun State.
Ogunbunmi, who according to reports was due for delivery, was on her way to the Ogun State General Hospital in Ijaiye, Abeokuta when she was abducted.
Her husband, Lateef revealed he received a whatsapp message from the kidnappers, which confirmed that his wife had been abducted.
This sent shockwaves through their family and the whole community at large.
Confirming the incident, the Ogun State Police command spokesperson, Omolola Oduntola, issued a statement on her X handle, detailing the sequence of the event leading to the reported abduction.
“One Ogunbunmi Lateef of Oke Lantoro reported that his pregnant wife, who was due for delivery, left home for State Hospital Ijaiye, Abeokuta. He received a WhatsApp message confirming the abduction of his wife by unknown armed men,” she said.
While Oduntola stated that the police have launched an investigation into the case, she urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police.
She also assured the public that the pregnant woman would be rescued and her abductors brought to justice and appealed for any information that could aid the command’s investigations.
