The new deputy governor of Oyo state, lawyer Bayo Lawal, has taken the oath of office.
After taking the oath of loyalty and the oath of office, which were delivered by the state Chief Judge, Barrister Bayo Lawal was sworn in by Justice Muktair Abimbola SAN.
In his statement during the swearing-in ceremony, Governor Makinde asked the new deputy governor to put the needs of the residents of Oyo state first.
Lawal’s appointment came hours after the state House of Assembly impeached the former Deputy Governor of the state, Engr. Rauf Olaniyan, for misconduct and misappropriation of funds among other allegations, leveled against him.
