LASTMA has urged motorists to exercise caution as they ply the area.
At least 10 people have been injured as a fully-loaded BRT bus overturned on its side within the dedicated Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) lane along the Lagos-Abeokuta expressway in Iyana-Ipaja.
According to reports, the accident occurred around 7:45 am on Friday, resulting in 10 casualties.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA) confirmed the accident on their official X page, noting that the casualties have been taken care of.
“A fully loaded high-capacity bus fell on its side inside the dedicated lane (BRT lane) with a record of 10 casualties (Victims), which they were taken care of,” the statement read.
Emergency responders swiftly arrived at the scene of the accident to provide medical assistance and transport the injured to a nearby healthcare center.
The condition of the victims are yet to be disclosed as at the time of writing this report.

Meanwhile, LASTMA also reports that another fully-loaded truck has fallen at Durbar junction along the Lagos-Badagry expressway, causing a complete blockage of the road leading to other areas.
The accident, which has caused significant traffic eruption, has prompted authorities to divert vehicles through the service lane from Orile.
Motorist have been advised to follow the diversion as efforts are ongoing to clear the obstruction and restore normal traffic.
The post read, “There is a fallen loaded truck at Durbar junction inward Alakija that took 100% of the road.
“Traffic has been diverted through the service lane from Orile heading towards Durbar.
“Effort is ongoing to evacuate it from the road and our men are firmly in position to monitor the situation.
“Transloading of contents in the fallen truck is currently ongoing. We apologize for the inconvenience. LASTMAcares!”
