Breaking: Sunday Igboho still held in custody in Cotonou, extradition hearing begins today.

Controversial yoruba activist, Sunday Igboho was arrested on Monday night, July 19th by the International Criminal Police Organization at Cadjèhoun airport located in Cotonou, Benin Republic.Sunday and his wife were arrested by the police while they were trying to board a flight to Germany.

Reports gathered say that may be tried for immigration-related offences.

Yoruba residents in Cotonou organized a protest for Sunday’s release from prison, claiming that he has committed no criminal offence.

According Legit.ng reported that a source said that;

He(Sunday) was arrested in Cotonou on Monday night  while he tried to travel. He was already at the airport with a passport. The immigration officers suspected his passport so they stopped him. In the process, they discovered he was the one.”

Meanwhile, Sunday’s spokesman, Olayomi Koiki disclosed that the court in Benin has fixed a date for court hearing on Thursday, July 22.

According to him, the hearing will create an avenue to present and defend Sunday’s case.
