Oguta said that the was an opportunity to create value for airport terminals.

Airport users at the Muritala Muhammed Airport Terminal II (MMA2) were left in awe as a couple, Olamide Alli and Abiodun Agboola, took their wedding vows at the terminal.

According to reports, the terminal, which is operated by Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Ltd. (BASL), had a section of it’s departure area barricaded for the wedding. The area contained only 50 guests and took place on Saturday, June 29, 2024.

The Chief Operating Officer of BASL, Kola Bamigboye told reporters that the wedding, which was first of its kind at the airport, was to tell the world that MMA2 was more than just a terminal.

Bamigboye hoped that the success of the wedding ceremony would encourage people to consider doing their wedding at the airport.

“We like to bring people together. It’s either you are travelling through our terminal or you are coming here to solidify your love,” he said.

BASL’s Head of Aviation Security, Mrs Monica Oguta, mentioned that the wedding was an opportunity to create value for airport terminals.

When asked if the couple were airport staff, Oguta clarified that they were just individuals who felt the idea was good.

“I started nursing the idea of an airport wedding some years back and when the opportunity came, we seized it,” she said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the couple exchanged their wedding vows and rings at the terminal. They were also given free flight tickets by Value Jet Airlines.
