Court sentences Evans to 21 years imprisonment

The notorious kidnapper has been sentenced alongside his co-defendant.

Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of the Ikeja Special Offences Court has sentenced famous kidnapper, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, popularly known as Evans, and his co-defendant, Victor Aduba to 21 years imprisonment for kidnapping one Sylvanus Hafia.

The judgement was passed on Monday, as they were accused of kidnapping the victim at about 5:30 pm on June 23, 2014, at Kara Street Amuwo Odofin in Lagos and demanded a ransom of $2m.

Evans and his co-defendant however, pleaded not guilty to four other charges.

Justice Oluwatoyin maintained that the sentence will serve as a warning to other kidnappers.
