Alhaji Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli, the Emir of Zazzau has lamented the widespread security challenges in Northern Nigeria.
He said that there is the strong need for people to support government’s efforts to bring the menace to an end.
The Emir advised those behind the insecurity and banditry in the region to desist from such act and give peace a chance for the development of the area and the country as a whole.
Speaking during an interview with a BBC Hausa Service on his one year anniversary on the stool, Alhaji Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli explained that he had never been so desperate to occupy such a sensitive office, saying that he sees it purely as an act of God.
He opined, “My hope was to become the Magajin Gari or Madaki. Allah knows that was my wish.”
The Emir said he thanked Allah for giving him good health and for elevating him to the present status.
Speaking on insecurity, he explained that recently the traditional rulers had a meeting with Northern governors, saying that one of the main issues was centred on insecurity, adding that they talked about what was happening in the North as it affects everybody.
He added that the best solution is to turn to Allah, repent and continue to support all the efforts being made towards addressing the various challenges facing the country.
