The Federal Government of Nigeria has advised Nigerians looking to visit the United Kingdom to exercise extreme caution when visiting the United Kingdom.
The alert follows the recent riots that has erupted in the european country due to the tragic killing of three young girls at a concert in the country.
The resulting violence has led to attacks on law enforcement agents and substantial damage to infrastructure.
In a press statement released by the Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday, the present dangerous conditions were highlighted.
A spokesperson for the Ministry, Eche Abu-Obe, emphasized the need for heightened vigilance.
“Citizens are strongly advised to avoid political processions, protests, rallies, and any large gatherings.
“Staying alert and avoiding crowded areas are crucial for personal safety,” he said.
Far-right and extremist groups in the UK have showed demonstrations, which has resulted to unrest.
These demonstrations have fostered an anti-immigrant sentiment, placing Muslim immigrants and people of colour facing hostility.
