The late Chief Executive Officer of Access Holdings PLC, Herbert Wigwe, his wife Chizoba, and son Chizi have been finally laid to rest in his hometown.
Remains of the trio were buried in a private interment following a funeral church service which took place on Saturday, March 9, 2024.
The ceremony, which took place in his Omueke hometown in Isiokpo, Rivers State, marked an end to a week-long funeral rites dedicated to celebrating the life and achievements of the successful banker, his wife and son.
Friends and Family, mourners, associates and well-wishers gathered at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Lion of Judah Parish Isiokpo, to pay their final respects.
In attendance at the service were notable dignitaries such as the Senate President Godswill Akpabio, two former Rivers State governors, Rotimi Amaechi and Nyesom Wike; business mogul Aliko Dangote; Governors, Sim Fubara, Dapo Abiodun, Alex Otti, Babajide Sanwo-Olu; former Senate President, Bukola Saraki; and Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, among others.
The Wigwes, sadly lost their life, alongside the former Group Chairman of Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX Group) Plc, Abimbola Ogunbanjo, as well as two pilots in a helicopter crash in the United States on February 9, 2024.
