The Justice Department linked Hushpupi to the bank theft through Alaumary, who allegedly linked up with ‘Ray Hushpupi’ to launder funds from a North Korea organised cyber-enabled heist from a bank in Maltese in February 2019.

The Assistant Attorney General of the Justice Department of the National Security Division, John.C Demers said;

“As laid out in today’s indictment, North Korea’s operatives, using keyboards rather than guns, stealing digital wallets of cryptocurrency instead of sacks of cash, are the world’s leading bank robbers. “

Reports from BBC, say that Hushpuppi was linked to the crime when investigators unsealed a charge against Ghaleb Alaumary of Ontario, Canada.
