Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, shares that even though he descended from a wealthy family, he did not get a kobo of their wealth.
The Nigerian billionaire recently surpassed Johann Rupert from South Africa to become Africa’s richest man.
He admitted in a new interview that his great-grandfather was the richest man in West Africa in the 1940s.
His grandfather was also rich and even his own father was a rich businessman who combined his business and politics.
However, Dangote recalls with pride how he didn’t collect a dime from their wealth and still built everything he had from scratch.
Although he confesses that his father left him a tangible amount in his will, he donated it to charity.
