“I do not score enough goals”- Haaland

The Norwegian striker isn’t happy with his goalscoring form despite taking his tally to 12 goals in 15 matches for his country.

Borrusia Dortmund star, Erling Haaland feels he should score more goals than he plays matches, despite hitting double figures for Norway in Qatar 2022 World Cup Qualifying.

Haaland was in exceptional form for the Lovene in a 5-1 win against Gibraltar, in which a scored an hat-trick. That means, he has scored a total of 12 goals in just 15 caps for Norway.

Speaking after the match, the striker didn’t seem satisfied with his output. He admits that he does not feel like he’s living up to his personal standards in terms of how many goals he scores per game.

“I do not score enough goals,” he said after the match.

“I’m close to one goal [per game] on average. I personally think that I should have had more goals than matches.”

Haaland is only 21 but he’s already cementing his status as one of the best in the world – and his captain Martin Odeegard feels the same too.

“The numbers speak for themselves,” he said of the 21-year old

“There’s not much more to say, really. It’s absolutely insane. We are lucky to have him.”

“I would say that he is right up there among the biggest. He does not stand back for anyone.”

At club level, Haaland is second in the Bundesliga goalscoring chart with Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski the only player ahead of him.
