‘I’m building my first house after 20 years’ – Seun Kuti queries colleagues’ wealth

Maverick singer, Seun Kuti has queried his colleagues in the music industry over their sources of wealth.

Speaking during a recent Instagram Live session, Kuti expressed doubt over the wealth of some of his colleagues, downplaying the possibility of their enormous wealth being from musical earnings.

He stated that he is only building his first house despite touring for 20 years, yet artistes with less than two hit songs are wealthier than him.

Kuti said: “I have been touring for over 20 years, and I’m only just building my first house. Where is the music money coming from? Musician never get two songs, he don buy Lamborghini and G-wagon. Where’s this music money coming from?”

DAILY POST reports that in recent times, more Nigerian artistes have come out to boast about the lucrativeness of the music industry.

Rapper, Shallipopi had previously stated in an interview that there’s so much money in the music industry, stressing that his financial breakthrough came after dropping a few hits.

Singer, Portable once claimed that there’s more money in the music industry than rituals, fraud and football.
