The rapper has expressed his disappointment at Wizkid’s takes but vows to continue doing his best for the game.

Nigerian rap sensation, Blaqbonez has expressed his disappointment at Wizkid’s recent attack on Nigerian rappers.

In an interview with 10 magazine, Nigerian megastar Wizkid commented that he does not listen to rap as the genre is dead and he is tired of the similarity in beat and style.

This triggered reactions from some rappers in the Nigerian music industry such as M.I, Ycee and Oladips, who came to the defence of the rap game.

Blaqbonez, who has been silent concerning the matter, has finally spoken up as he reveals his disappointment and hurt by the comments.

In a post on Twitter, Blaqbonez stated that he his a huge fan of Wizkid and while he is not bothered about the comments in the magazine, it was his later comments on Snapchat that got him disappointed.

Wizkid had described rappers on Snapchat as broke while also stating that there are only three rappers in Africa- Nasty C, Black Sherif and Sarkodie.

The “Back in Uni” crooner said that he found those comments hurtful, however, he wasn’t going to relent as long as he keeps feeding his family.

He said: “The last few days had me reflecting, looking back at how far I’ve come, the Wins and the Losses, whatever rap may or may not be, it got me this, everything i have, the cult like fans who by far are the best part of everything.

I said that to say i’m disappointed, everyone knows I’m a big wizkid fan, maybe even a dick rider on twitter but rn I’m disappointed, i am, I can’t hide my emotions, I wasn’t even mad at the magazine article, those are conversations I’ve even had behind the scenes, but the actions that followed can’t be defended, heavily degrading and undeserved but I’d keep doing my thing, carrying the most bashed and the most attacked genre on my back, showing the world what a Nigerian rapper looks like.

I’d keep dropping these hits, classic albums, selling out my shows, however far it takes me I’m good with it long as i can feed my family…”
