Manchester United fined by the FA for players’ furious reaction during Brighton win

The club was fined as a result of a furious reaction from the club’s players during a PL game.

Manchester United have been fined by the English Football Association, FA for failing to ensure their players conducted themselves during the match against Brighton and Hove Albion.

During the match between the two premier league sides, an incident occurred in the 53rd minute which saw Brighton’s skipper Lewis Dunk receive a red card.

Dunk appeared to have fouled Manchester United’s Anthony Elanga, who dispossessed him and was through on goal.

As a result, furious Man United players surrounded the referee and demanded that Dunk be sent off. Amongst them were Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes, with the latter receiving a yellow card.

The FA has now fined the club a sum of £20,000 ($30,000) for their player’s furious reaction to the referee’s decision during the match.

“Manchester United has been fined £20,000 for a breach that took place at its Premier League game against Brighton and Hove Albion,” the FA said in a statement.

“Manchester United admitted failing to ensure that its players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion during the 53rd minute and accepted the standard penalty.”

However, United won the match 2-0 with goals from the Portuguese duo; Ronaldo and Fernandes which took them to 4th in the league.
