Argentine superstar Lionel Messi has gifted each player and member of staff of their World Cup winning team a 35 gold-plated iPhone 14 device.
The Paris Saint-Germain star gave this as a token of appreciation to the squad for bringing back the World Cup after 36 years.
According to reports, the gold plated phones (24-carat) cost a whooping sum of £185k and each iPhone is engraved with the Argentine AFA shield, the name of the player and their squad number.
Ben Lyons, the CEO of iDesign Gold – the company which designed the phones said: “Lionel is not just the Goat, but he is one of our most loyal customers and he contacted us a couple of months after the World Cup final.”
Messi was recently crowned the 2022 FIFA Best player of the year for the outstanding role in played in Argentina’s World Cup triumph in Qatar.
During the course of the competition, Messi scored seven goals including two in the Final against France as he led his team to glory.
