Na today I regret pass say I no do Yahoo – Nigerian actor Aremu Afolayan laments

His outburst came following the recent hike in petrol prices in Nigeria.

Nigerian actor Aremu Afolayan has expressed his regret over not engaging in internet fraud following the hike in the prices of petrol across Nigeria.

According to findings made available by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPC) now sells fuel at N897 per litre from an initial price of N617 per litre.

Independent marketers are said to be selling between N930 to N1200.

Following these recent developments, the actor took to Instagram on Wednesday, stressing that running a legitimate business looks useless now and stating that he regrets not involving himself in ‘Yahoo Yahoo’.

He wrote, “All of the days wey dem dey talk about yahoo yahoo, na today I regret pass say I no do am. Legitimate hustling never felt super useless #aremuafolayan.”

Afolayan’s post sparked reactions among Instagram users as they share their view concerning the matter in his comment section.

A user wrote, “I legit said the same thing today! Nigeria will make you drift away from God but God no go shame us.”

“Na this morning I know say, na bad government the push plenty people into crime… Imagine if your salary is 100k and your transport is 70k per month for this country and you have family to take care of! Legitimate hustle is difficult in this country. Nevertheless, we go survive legitimately,” another user wrote.

Another user, who saw the post as an avenue to express his displeasure with the current economic state of the country wrote, “Honestly, I won’t lie.. it’s very hard to do legit stuff In this country rn, and make head while at it.. more reasons I can’t/won’t judge folks running it .. even though I actually can’t.. it’s so painful, for real.”
