Belgium goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois, has slammed UEFA following his side’s Nations League 2-1 defeat to Italy over the weekend.
Courtois said that UEFA only cares about money and not players after Italy defeated Belgium in the Nations League 3rd/4th placed play-off.
Two goals from Nicolas Barella and Domenico Berardi ensured Italy defeated Belgium as Charles De Ketelaere’s late goal was not enough.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Courtois said, “This game is just a money game and we have to be honest about it.
“We just play it because for UEFA, it’s extra money.
“This just shows that we play too many games. In June again, there are four Nations League games, why?”
“We will get injured and nobody cares about the players anymore.”
