The gold medal won by the team made up of Tobi Amusan, Rosemary Chukwuma, Favour Ofili, and Grace Nwokocha is at stake following a drug test speculation.
Nigeria is reported to be on the brink of losing the women’s 4x100m relay gold won at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
This speculation came following a yet-to-be-named member of the team that failed a drug test; a practice frowned upon in sports.
The Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) have, however, been notified of the development by the World Anti-Doping Agency, with the confirmation of the B sample still being awaited.
Pending investigation, the name of the affected team member remains hidden.
