Nigerian rapper Oladips passes away at 28 after battle with an undisclosed illness

The rapper was rushed to the hospital for treatment after he collapsed.

Nigerian indigenous rapper Olabode Oladimeji, popularly known as Oladips has sadly passed away at 28 after battling with an undisclosed illness.

The shocking news was announced by the rapper’s management via his official Instagram page, notifying the public of the rapper’s demise on Wednesday, 15th of November, 2023. According to the post, the rapper passed away yesterday November 14, 2023, after battling with an illness privately for two years.

“We are saddened to inform the general public that Oladipupo Olabode Oladimeji aka OLADIPS passed away yesterday Nov’14th Tuesday evening, at exactly 10:14pm.We are still in shock as we speak! For over 2 years he has kept his battles within himself,his body is now with his family & funeral services will be announced as soon as it is concluded! The family asked that we respect their privacy in this trying time. May God give us all the fortitude to bear this great loss. (amen),” the post read.

The rapper was said to have collapsed in the midst of his friends, sending them into a panic mood. In a video posted on Instagram by his friend with the handle, OnlyOneLifetime, his friends could be heard panicking and calling out his name, in an attempt to resuscitate him.

His friend also posted that he was taking Oladips home as instructed by the rapper’s mother, who allegedly insisted that he was not taken to an hospital.

Meanwhile, hours before his collapse, the rapper called out to his friends on Instagram to come home back home, stressing that he had warned them not to leave him alone at home in his condition.

He wrote: “Gonlyonelifetime_ Please Where Are You? I Done Call Your Number Tire I Talk Say Make Una No Dey Leave Only Me For This House, I Done Talk This Thing Like A Million Times… Not Even This Period Like This S Please Dey Come House Please Tori Olorun”.

Oladips also made a tweet, letting his fans know that he was not feeling too good and asked for their prayers. This was his last post before his demise.
