The Buhari-led administration comes to an end in barely two months.
Senior Special Assitant to the president on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu has assured that Nigerians will yearn for President Muhammadu Buhari when he leaves office.
Speaking during an interview with Channels Television, Shehu frowned at the level of criticism the current administration has received, arguing that leaders are not loved in office.
As a form of contrast, the assistant made the case of former president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, whom was persecuted out of office but, according to many Nigerians, had a better performance in office than his successor.
Shehu strongly believes this would be the case after Buhari has handed over to the president elect (Asiwaju Bola-Ahmed Tinubu).
The special assistant also spoke about the issue of the cashless policy introduced by the current administration, maintaining that the policy was desirable and therefore irreversible.
He said, “cashless is the way forward for Nigeria because cashless nations and in fact, all advanced nations of the world have gone cashless.”
