Odumodu Black Engages in a Heated Dispute with Female Fans Over His Demeaning Lyrics

Nigerian artist Odumodu Bl^ck has recently found himself at the centre of an online controversy. His latest songs, which some fans describe as demeaning to women, have sparked heated debates.

Among his critics is a female Twitter user named Ochi, who labelled his lyrics as “disgusting,” urging women to be financially independent to avoid such derogatory narratives.

In a twist, Odumodu responded by pointing out Ochi’s past tweets, which seemed contradictory to her current stance.

Similarly, another Twitter user, Ore Akindi, also known as the crochet creator, criticised Odumodu for his reaction to the backlash. Instead of addressing the issue, he chose to highlight Ore’s past tweets about her stance on sexual freedom and her opposition to unsolicited direct messages from men.

These interactions have sparked discussions about the artist’s approach to criticism and the portrayal of women in his music.

Amidst the controversy, Odumodu’s career decisions have also been in the limelight. In October, he revealed that he turned down a $200,000 deal from a major record label to join Teezees Native Record Label for a significantly lower offer of $10,000.

He believed the smaller label would be more beneficial in the long run. This bold move followed his significant win in September at the 16th Hades Awards, where he was honoured as the Rookie of the Year. Additionally, his hit single “Declan Rice” not only solidified his place in the music scene but also earned him the Best Rap Single award.
